Hello everyone, I'm Jimena Pimentel, I just returned from the trip to Canada to see the Northern Lights in Whitehorse, Yukon.

Here I bring you my opinion and some advice when searching for the Northern Lights:

In Search of the Northern Lights

· From the beginning the Local team was very friendly and answered all my questions before making the reservation.

They offered me several extras and through the chat on the page the communication with the agency they hire in Whitehorse was very good.

· Without a doubt it is better to schedule the extras before going because once you have been there, they may be full.

Upon arrival they gave me my itinerary and everything was excellent with each of the activities.

The flights are scheduled externally and it seemed like a good option since there were delays and the airline (AIRCANADA).

· By the way, the hotel was very comfortable, I requested a room for myself with the extra and I was very happy.

In Search of the Northern Lights

· Be very punctual in the times they give you in the itinerary since, if you are not there on time, they will leave you, I think that speaks a lot about the responsibility of each person, but I liked that they were very specific in that aspect.

Yes or if they rent snow clothing there, we had to reach -40°C and what saved us was the clothing and boots that were rented, truly the clothing that one wears from here is useful, but only for the inner layers.

Remember that meals are not included, but there are several very good restaurants, but expect approximately $30 per meal, if you want to try the Bison burgers and the Salmon, they are the best.

The town is small, but it has several places to visit if you have a free day, such as the Yukon Museum, glass blowing workshops and several souvenir shops, some of which give you a discount if you show them your hotel key. For souvenirs, I recommend some maple cookies that are sold in stores or even at the airport and they are delicious.

It is possible to use debit or credit cards in all stores, cash too but it is not mandatory.

In the matter of the Auroras, I saw them three out of five days, when going in search of the Northern Lights.

It must be taken into account that they must be clear days without moonlight.

Not all cell phones can capture them, iPhones are good for that, but in my case my Xiaomi could not capture them. However, the agency has a photography service that you can buy on its website and they are very worth it.

· Preferably if they carry an external battery since in the cold the devices turn off very quickly.

· I highly recommend the dog sledding, snowshoeing and hot spring tours, the latter do not allow you to enter with your phone, but the staff can take a photo of you with your hair frozen and then send it to your mail.

It is also very important that you check your plane arrival and departure times so that the staff can take you.

About this trip I can say that I have no complaints, everything was as agreed and I enjoyed it immensely.

If someone will do it soon and has doubts, I can gladly give them my opinion based on what I experienced. It is an incredible and wonderful experience, do not hesitate to live it and go in search of the Northern Lights
